The equipment undergoing TPM will be brought up to its optimal
performance, correcting any discrepancies that may be found. It will also be customized
with modifications mostly suggested by the operators and supervisors, and analyzed and
approved by the whole team. As we previously stated, such modifications or improvements
will cover not only the machine itself, but its surrounding areas as well.
Old or obsolete
filtering devices being replaced for newly designed ones is just one of many examples of
possible modifications that may lead to a superior environmental condition.
A cleaner and better up-kept
piece of equipment is less likely to break down, any discrepancy that could've ended up as
a major problem, will be detected and solved in the earliest stages. In terms of dollars,
the result of a better maintenance philosophy has a logical translation into profit.
